HTC International was founded by Mark Hawkins, Our Principal Consultant after a 25 year career as the Senior Global Manager for Humanitarian Technology and Renewable Energy at Save the Children International and Merlin.
Mark is a leading specialist in Security Telecommunications, Connectivity & Networking, Renewable Energy and Disaster Response and Preparedness. As a senior manager at Save the Children International, he designed a training programme to give ICT staff the skills needed to apply their skills in a disaster response setting.
In addition to running the disaster response training programme for Save the Children, he has also facilitated training for UNICEF, The Emergency Telecommunications Cluster and Nethope.
With his thorough knowledge of telecoms, connectivity and infrastructure, Mark has helped set technical standards for Save the Children and have led successful procurement tenders which has resulted in significant costs savings for Save the Children and Merlin.
